I just learned how to stay longer in irc channels. here are the steps to make it fast,,serves as a reminder for my self XD
1) go to terminal
2) type “screen”
3) go to an irc server, then join a channel
4) press CTRL + A and press “D” (it will detach yourself)
– upon doing that, exit and your name sticks in the channel
5) to get back using the same screen, go to terminal
6) type screen -list
7) you’ll see something like 7232.aasdf-tasd sort of file name
8) type screen -r 7232.aasdf-tasd ( this is just an example )
9) your session is now revived 🙂 that’s it
